The List of Judges

DONG Ruifeng

Dong Ruifeng is Director of the Program Department at China Movie Channel and a National First-Class Literary Editor. A veteran scholar and producer, he has overseen the production of over 400 films, including acclaimed titles such as “The War of Loong” and ”Feng Shui”. He has served on the juries of both the Golden Rooster and Golden Horse Awards, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Missouri-Columbia. As founder of the Cinematography Department at Nanguang College, Communication University of China, he has played a key role in cultivating new talent and advancing film education.

Jukka-Pekka Laakso

President of the Tampere Film Festival since 2002, Jukka-Pekka Laakso is a highly regarded curator and international film juror, having contributed to over 60 festival panels, including the Edinburgh International Film Festival and Locarno Film Festival. He also serves as Executive Director of the Pirkanmaa Film Centre, actively advancing arthouse cinema, film distribution, and media education in Finland. His decade-long involvement with the Finnish Film Council underscores his commitment to enhancing public understanding and appreciation of cinematic arts.

LI Fang

Li Fang holds the titles of Associate Researcher at the Communication University of China. Centered on cultivating youth engagement through film culture, he has curated influential initiatives such as the “Memorial of Midsummer” student film exhibition and the Golden Coconut Forum. His work spans international audiovisual exchange and short video programming. As co-author of several Chinese film festival blue books and director of the university’s 70th anniversary gala, he skillfully merges academic perspective with cultural outreach.

Vikram Channa

Vice President and Chief Editor at Warner Bros. Discovery for Greater China and Southeast Asia, Vikram Channa is a veteran in non-fiction storytelling with over 2,000 documentaries to his credit. His work—such as Times of Xi and China Flash Forward—brings vivid local narratives to national audiences. He actively mentors emerging filmmakers through programs like “First Time Filmmaker” and “IP Plan: Image Possibilities”

YANG Jing

Yang Jing, founder and CEO of Shan Yi, established the Shan Yi International Women’s Film Festival in 2017 to spotlight women’s voices in cinema. She has supported a range of short films directed by female filmmakers, including By Your Side, Ordinary Night, Canker, and Floaters. Through this initiative, she continues to play a leading role in advancing gender equity within China’s independent film landscape, fostering new talent and carving space for women’s narratives to thrive.
